Lucy reported earlier today that there have been strong winds in the village today.
Looking at the weather station at Ayios Stefanos (west), the winds seem to have peaked at lunchtime at 69 mph, which is Beaufort scale 11 - violent storm!

Natural Disasters Affect Corfu - Serious Damages
Serious problems created by bad weather affecting the evening of Wednesday the prefecture. The city and the region of the prefecture winds swept away by intensive 9 and 10 Beaufort. Thanks for that, Chris - I guess my 'fridge went off then and I've lost my internet connection!
The first two photos are of course in Garitsa Bay and that section of collapsed pavement was actually suspended over the sea. The wind direction being south easterly would hit the bay with its full force. Only a few weeks ago, we had to dodge the spray when walking along there and the wind was a tame force 3. No surpirse that our 'plane landed and took off towards the sea!
We'll find out later about Roda's plight.
