In England I am a lover of real ale, which is obviously scarce in Roda! Although I really enjoy a pint of cold mythos, I find after a week, I start to crave my Bathams bitter! Last October while staying at Ninos on the beach,I walked to Acharavi, and stopped for a beer at the Lemon Garden. I tried a large glass of Draught Ionion Gold, and it was fantastic.it had the colour and flavour of an ale, but was ice cold. I couldn't leave my glass alone, and had quite a few more. Is their anywhere in Roda that this beer is available?

The walk along the beach to Acharavi is shorter than the walk to Pegasus Hotel (from where you are staying). My husband drinks the Ionian beers when in Roda - will ask if can remember which bar(s) serve it - if he doesn't have a senior moment that is.
regards, Kath.

I'm sat in Skouna bar and, while I'm not an ale man, they have confirmed they have a selection of the 'Corfu Beers' (inc Corfu Real Ale and Ionian Gold).

PS - the only health warning to that is that they're bottled.

Thanks for the tips folks. I will try the skouna bar Redwalks, I went passed it many times last year but didn't go in.tripadvisor has nothing but good comments about it. I also want a big proper kebab!!!!. I ordered one last year, but it was meat on two skewers! I want a big wrap with salad and chilli sauce, what do I order? I know it's more birmingham than Roda, but its my hangover cure!!

I think the closest you will get to a kebab is a Gyros pitta - you can get them at the Roda grill on the main road down to the beach (next to Yummies and just about opposite Drunken Sailor

As Kath says, it's a Giros pitta - (said Yeeros) - small are €2 and large are €4 at Dimitri's Grill Room next to Oscars.

Thanks for the tips guys. 11 days and counting. Best meal I had last year was at Nikos family taverna. I had the lamb in vine leaves. The single best course I had all week. But I love a greasy kebab!!!
