We have just heard the sad news that Angelos from Pirates died suddenly this afternoon. I am sure that our thoughts are with Toulah George Kostas and Stacey and the grandkids.

It is a very sad day for Roda. Angelos was only 63 and well known by so many. The funeral will take place in Roda this evening at 5pm in the village church of St George.

Tourists to Roda must have wondered what was going on this evening when just about everyone in the village attended the funeral of Angelos Banos. Many businesses simply closed for an hour or so and, personally, I have never seen so many people at a local funeral. The road out of the village to the cemetery at Sfakera came to a virtual standstill as people paid their last respects to one of our most likeable village characters. Angelos had always made me feel very welcome ... he will be greatly missed.

I have just heard this very sad news and am in shock. Have known Angelos since we first started coming to Roda in 1988. My husband Keith used to love having a drink with him.....especially when Pirates was "TAKA MAM'S" A lovely Man who will be sadly missed. Sincere condolences and love go out to all the family...... ......feeling very sad tonight
