Fab I'll bear that in mind think I may need to look at somewhere else to stay though as it seems they are in desperate need of an upgrade....how dissapointing!

To be honest Cheryl,I wouldn't mind where I stayed, it's only to sleep in and shower, as long as I get to Roda...We started going in the 80's, and believe you me we have stayed in some strange apartments, and slept with small lizards etc. but that was way back then and things have improved...........so I wouldn't be too worried, you will be out most of the time..as of late, I stay at The AFRODITI because I am a lone traveller and meet up with old friends............when are you planning to go?

Yep, use Roda Taxis. We stayed in the Venus the first year I was in Roda - loooong time ago. Said it was 100m to a sandy beach. Oh how we laughed when we got there.... lol The pool complex etc at the Venus is lovely.

Yeah, in need of an upgrade doesn't necessarily mean there's anything wrong with the apartments. Just not us up to date as some. And at the end of the day, as Kaz said, as long as where you have somewhere to have a sleep & a shower! Like Kaz, I've stayed in various apartments round the village. Some better than others. But you just make the best of what you get!

I wouldnt say Im expecting the ritz kaz but I have to admit all the pictures of dirty sheets and towels on trip advisor have put me off a bit!!.....I don't mind things being outdated but clean matters to me when people have asked for clean sheets they apparently havent had a nice response....but then you always get people who arent happy whatever too so how much do you pay attention to this!? I just don't know now Ive booked and paid for the flights 8-22 August and booked these apartments to match so Im now looking round for a similar priced deal but struggling! We've eated at the Afroditi, It was lovely!

I would not stay in the accommodation owned by Charlies sister. We stayed in one of the apartments 2 years ago and one night I woke up in the middle of the night with water dripping down my arm from a hole in the roof - we ended up with pans/dishes/towels strategically placed around the floor to catch the water. Admittedly it was a heck of a storm (but no worse than we have here in the UK). When we reported it we just got the familiar "shrugging of the shoulders". We have also stayed in Charlies own accommodation (Venus) and would not hesitate to stay in those apartments again. The Venus is in a lovely quiet spot just a short walk from the beach (which is not sandy at that point but pebbly/stony) but just a 10 minute walk from the sandy beach in the main village. The pool areas is well maintained with a bar area.
If you are looking to book privately there is lots of accommodation within the forum here - personally I would recommend Angelina (opp Theodoros) and Alexandros (at the back of Silver Beach Hotel). Just browse the pages and you will find lots and I'm sure one or more will suit your needs.
Good luck, Kath.

Just to add, it also depends on whether you need a pool on site or not - there is lots of accommodation without pools too and you can use any pool in roda just so long as you dont take your own food/drink with you and buy your snacks on site.
regards, Kath.

Thankyou all so much for your time and information! You have been so helpful 8) Ive contacted numerous places this afternoon but unfortunately with there being four of us its difficult. There is either no availability at the time of our flights or the price is out of our budget so now Im faced with do I go expecting the pits but say heyho Im in Roda who cares or do I look elsewhere in Corfu!? Very very difficult as I would not be happy with the dirty bedding shown on trip advisor but I also really want to return to Roda. I'm stuck.

Hi chopimarax you could try Alexandros Apartments as they have two bedrooms in the apartments.... they are further from the beach but only a 5 minute walk and have a great pool. Also handy for the village located just behind the Silver Beach. We stay there every year, they are kept very clean and Anna and Angelo will make you very welocom. I'm sure there are other places in the village with two bedroom apartments as well that people can recommend. It's listed in Roda Pages
