Hi again, my wife thinks that I have been selfish asking about Beer only so I have been made to ask about Good Cocktail Bars which I suppose is only fair, so Ladies can you advise us where we can go for the Best Cocktails (and Beer ) please.Thank you, Michael and Pauline.

Pauline needn't feel left out, she will be spoilt for choice wherever you go, from The Roundabout Bar, onto Oscar's The Afroditi, Big Ben's, Skouna, Roxannes, Crusoes(over 100 to choose from!) Pirates, Alexandros, Harbour Bar, Brandy Shop, The Coral, Sandy's Arms, John & Michelle's new bar (the name of which is a secret) not to mention all of the restaurant and apartment bars, there's bound to be one or two that she'll like! pete.

A very nice setting but you are paying for it in the price of the cocktails, in the village they vary from 3.5 to 4.5 euros which over a fortnights holiday can mount up, The prices in general are a lot more in Kassiopi than Roda, from a pair of sunglasses(1 to 2 euro more) to a sunbed on the beach (2 euro more). pete.

Yeah, why go pay higher prices in Kassiopi, when you have your choice of bars in Roda!!!

We've had cocktails & beers, but don't forget aperitifs. What is everyone's favourite pre-dinner drink and where do you go? When we got back to Corfu in April, we were curious about the aperitif that everyone in Italy seemed to be drinking and we found that Maggie was raving about it too. It's been around for about 80 years, but it's now available in Roda. The spritz costs under €4 and is available at Skouna - hopefully more bars will follow their lead.

Hello again, continuing with the booze theme ,Pauline has now acquired a taste for Amaretto ! do you know if this is readily available in Roda as we sometimes find it hard to come by in U/K pubs. I am sure she can survive on cocktails if not .we are not drunkards really! . Michael and Pauline.

Fear not Michael, Pauline will be able to drink it in almost every bar or restaurant you choose to go in. pete.

Coming from just across the water, I think Amaretto is available almost everywhere in Corfu. Another Italian drink that you will find in every bar in Roda is Averna - a digestif often drunk by locals if they have eaten a little too much. It is also used in cocktails ... see AVERNA

Thoroughly recommend popping in Theo's and getting him to make one of his special Mojito's with fresh mint from his garden! Tony
