No10 tubular pasta will do the pipes and an oatcake for the manhole, Gail! Evidently some bread is sort of engraved with patterns while other people mould symbols out of dough before baking

Somebody mentioned that Pete from 'Sunset' did a Christmas dinner last year. Well the flurry of activity we reported at Ammos Bar has resulted in a sign today announcing that 'Skippy's' will open tonight with a free buffet. Still don't know any more, but clearly things they are a'changing. Not too much loud or late music please Pete. Steve

sorry Steve - after many many tries at eating this - to be polite when offered it by Greek friends in their homes, I cannot eat it without being sick. Even the thought of the dreaded avgo lemono has me heading for the bathroom. It's not just in my head - I've eaten stuff in Corfu I cannot even describe and didn't ask about - I just cannot under any circumstances face this gook. My doctor has just done me the best favour ever - banned me from eating eggs for good due to very high blood pressure and cholesterol - my Saviour! ;D

Hi lisydaly So sorry to hear about your affliction - aversion to avgolemono (AA) should be a classified illness and the victims should be compensated or, at the very least, offered therapy ;D I understand the blood pressure aspect and I, also, only consume a limited number of eggs, but to blame your doctor is to unfairly give him a 'bruta figura' (Italian bad reputation). I only hope that the gravy you love so much is the real thing and not made from granules! Steve

You're a bit of a cook, Dave, give it a go at your next family Greek Night. It's very easy & well worth making.

We had dinner with Kostas & Voula last night and Kostas says that on Christmas Day they will probably eat chicken in avgolemono. Seems to be very popular 'all of a sudden'.

We spoke to Hilary at Pirate's Bar this morning - no Christmas Dinner there, I'm afraid - it's just for the family. Pete may be the only one.
