One restaurant report i forgot to post in my holiday review was Drossia. We decided to try this after 4 years of walking past and saying " we must try Drossia some night"!. What was the big mistake? Well not with the the staff who provided a warm and genuine welcome to us. Nor with the variety of food on offer or the prices. It certainly was not with my wife Deirdre's Sirlion steak served with onions and real chips. Nor was it with the excellent red village wine. Sadly the mistake was all mine - Having not eaten much all day due to the heat i thought well i am hungry now so i will try the famous Drossia Mixed Grill. After about 15 mins my wife's meal appeared and looked very nice. A few minutes later my meal arrived. Too say the least i was gobsmacked. 2 Burgers 2 Steaks 1 Large Village Sausage 1 Slice of Liver 1 Pork Lion chop 1 Large bone on Pork chop 1 Chicken Fillet All presented on top of a massive pile of real chips. Now i enjoy my food as much as anyone but i doubt if Desperate Dan could have finished this lot.! Give Drossia a try when you are in Roda - the food qaulity is excellent - but beware the Mixed Grill!

My husband made the same mistake about 4 years ago when he ordered the mixed grill - it could have fed a family of four. A brilliant restaurant with a lovely warm welcome!!!

I managed to eat that one year and can honestly say that it was all cooked perfectly. I must say though, it took about an hour for I could move and another 2 hours before I could manage a pint! The following day I also gave the Roda drainage system a thorough testing and can confirm that it all worked wonderfully! Tony

Hope there aren't many vegetarians on the forum, they will have just fainted looking at that picture! Completely agree with all the comments about the Drossia, we have never had a bad meal there. Hope you were able to finish the complimentary cakes they often give at the end of the meal.

It was very good Jackie - everything cooked to perfection. ( Although i admit i had to get a "doggie bag" to take away!). Mapleoak - The complimentary cake was light and lovely and a nice way to end a meal. PS: I have updated the list of ingredients which was on my plate - i forget to say there was also a chicken fillet! Can't fault anything about Drossia - but maybe i will have something lighter next time!! Regards to all David

The Drossia is the first place we go every year when we are back at Roda as the staff are great and the food is fantastic!! We always visit 2/3 times during the 2 weeks we are in Roda.
