Good for you Pete. There's so much to see on that wonderful island and you can't beat having your own car and exploring at your own pace.
I was particularly taken with old Perithea in April and have an ever growing list of places I'd like to visit.

Another view of Lake Antiniotissa from the top of Mt Pantokrator and while Pete was there looking up, we were photographing Old Perithia from above. Can you see him?

Pete's photo of Lake Antiotissa shows some of the thousands of sea squills that are shooting up all over the island at the moment. These were inside the castle in Kassiopi last week.

Great pictures Pete and Steve. We enjoyed a visit to Old Perithia last summer. A truly wonderful day out with a real sense of "old greece" Although the drive up to the village can be quite daunting a visit this ancient site you will not leave you dissapointed.

On the left of Pete's shot is an old spike of verbascum - it grows on so many rocky outcrops in Corfu earlier in the year. Here it is standing guard on the way down from Old Perithia:

If it is at all possible then follow Pete & Debbie to Old Perithia. I think the festival there is on the last day of July when there is procession around the village calling at each of the dozen or so churches. If you want to know more about the village, then Voula at Roda Park restaurant has a lot of information she will be pleased to share with you. This is a plan of the old village.

Our next trip out was prompted by a chat with Steve, we took to the hills behind Acharavi, up through the villages of Aghios Martines and Lafki where once again the views down to the north coast were stunning, it was a bit hazy so the true colours don't show on these photos, this is the first photo opportunity we came across... some of the views of the north coast... Onwards and upwards took us through the village of Eriva and Patilia from where you can see both the north coast and Corfu town... From there it was downhill all the way through Strinilas & Spartilas and some hairy scary hairpin bends to the East coast where there were views of all the usual suspects... The day was spoilt though when Debbie's surprise xmas present turned up early... A pleasant drive back up the east coast took us past Pirgi, Barbati, Nissaki, Kendroma, Kalami, Kouloura and Kerassia before cutting across to Kasipoi and then home, all in all a very enjoyable ride out despite meeting a couple of coaches where the wing mirrors had to be turned in. pete.

This is just one of the hairpin bends that Pete & Debbie drove round in Spartilas. Below is Ipsos, Gouvia Bay and Corfu Town.

Pleased you're enjoying your sight seeing trips Pete & Debbie, that' s the joy of having a car. That's the favourite part of my holiday, finding somewhere new every time we visit Corfu.
