Hi Pandora You may have passed up on what you called a good deal for 2 weeks on hearsay and how do you know that the Panorama is any different if you haven't been there I hope your not disappointed. And my comments were in general and not pointed at your views in particular. (And how would someone call towels properly washed they are either washed or not no comfort/softener I suppose) mmm

I am fully aware of what basic Greek standards of accommodation are and would not expect anything different. However, I do think that poor cleanliness should not be accepted and people deserve to be warned, rather than potentially suffer a repeat that may put them returning to Roda at all. A question was asked about the Venus apartments and I shared some very fresh feedback from a trusted source. The 2 ladies we know stated that, while the accommodation was generally to the normal acceptable standard, it was let down by the cleanliness with the towels being their specific example. Apparently white towels had repeatedly come back appearing as though they had not been properly washed. They had dirty streaks on them, which were not permanent stains. They added that they thought a lot of the upkeep was done by an older gentlemen and wondered whether it was getting too much for him. Steve has added that the accommodation is actually split into 2 parts and it is therefore open to the individual to make a decision based on the information available on the various properties. I thought this forum was to give members/visitors a balanced opinion but maybe a health warning should be added that only positive comments are allowed. Antony

Hi Redwalks I think you have taken my comments as personal well they are not.
You had an opinion based on comments from someone who stayed there. I just think it's wrong to diss an Apartment, Hotel or a Taverna to detract anyone from going there because of what someone said about it on a forum. Similar comments I made about giving a points score for Taverna's .
Your are entitled to your views the same as I am but lets not name and shame for the sake of it and let people make their own minds up.
If I have offended you in any way then please accept my apologies. Stay happy

Perhaps I can give a balanced view. We have stayed at the Venus apts twice (in both accommodations). I would not stay in the apts owned by Charlie,s sister again for the simple reason that during our stay we had a typical Corfu downpour one night and I awoke to water running down my arm and we had pots/pans/bowls strategically placed to catch the influx. This was not Charlie's (Venus) apts but his sister's and have not been renovated or in my opinion properly maintained. I would definitely stay in the Venus apts again as they are properly maintained by Charlie and the pool area is fantastic. I can't recall having a problem with towels or linen.

I do that Venus Apartments do change their linen regularly and people like Kath would not endorse the accommodation if this were not so. It has still not been established whose apartments the two ladies stayed in. They might have believed it to be Venus, but was it the unmodernised part? I know the cleaners at Venus and they are there every day working. There is clearly some confusion here and I will ask Charlie about towels, sheets etc and report back.
We do strive to give a balanced opinion here, Antony, but, at the moment, we cannot even be sure that Venus is the accommodation in question.
Steve

I only looked in here as I thought there had been a new post on the 'Venus' apartments. Kosmas and Pegasus are just about opposite one another (separated by the main Roda to Sidari road, approx a 5 minute walk (max).
