Redwalks what do you class as a new business? I think this one is at least 3 years old

Roda Now - in answer to your post I dont think any member of this forum would wish any business to close - I believe this business has been open for 2 years (unless it was previously on a different site). Britain no longer rules the waves - REALLY!
In order that we are aware of some facts, here is a precis of our rights under EU law (sale of goods): "If an item you bought anywhere in the EU turns out to be faulty or does not look or work as advertised, the seller must repair or replace free of charge or give a full refund or reduction in price. In some EU countries you will be offered the choice between all four remedies from the outset". I believe Greece are a member of the EU.
I believe the shop in question did offer Kaz a replacement watch (excellent) but when that also turned out to be faulty it is at this point she should have been offered a full refund. I mean, would you go into a shop to buy a watch and leave 3 days later with a pair of ear-rings (or whatever it was that she had to take as a substitute).
In conclusion - I do not want any business to close - I simply want people to be treated fairly.

Fair enough I did think this business was new but my concerns about how the business owner speaks to customers/prospective customers stands true.
I have no qualms about the stores refund rules, as long as they make them clear on purchase, but it was just the tone of the response. Maybe some of this was blurred in translation.
Obviously none of us want her business to close.
No idea what the Britain comment has got to do with this??

Kathwebber- we are open for three years and it's the first time we have a problem like this!! All of our clients English,Germans,Russians,Italians,French never told that we are thieves!!(I refer to the post about stilling and smiling in case you wonder)!!!We always try to do the best we can and yes we never said that the watches were not faulty and we returned them back and stopped cooperating with this supplier!! But you know,if you had a business you would know that unfortunately these things happen sometimes!! We apologised for the faulty item but it's quite hard to test everything before it comes in here!! AND Redwalks, i don't think i was rude because i answered to Katwebber who said we are stilling with a smile that if anyone really believes that doesn't have to come to our shop!!! Thank you!!

I have asked two people in the village so far and opinions are divided .... no one is really clear, but I will keep asking. Even though we are in the EU, national laws still exist and Greece may be different.
I had a problem several years ago when trying to buy a fridge in Kotsovoulos and I was told that if I didn’t buy their warranty, at a ridiculous extra amount, they wouldn’t sell it to me. They stated clearly that no statutory guarantee existed in Greece and they were prepared to lose the sale - which they did. Kotsovoulos is part of the British group Dixons. So we have a British owned, Greek based company refusing to give any guarantees. Please don’t think this is clear-cut.

"I suspect this example of "customer service" will cost this business dearly - how stupid can you get?"
"Which all goes to say you are happy to take money off tourists"
"We will not set foot in this shop."
"Robbery with a smile!"
"I do not want any business to close"
Confused??? Me too!!
These are all the really kind posts from Kathwebber in case you wonder who's being rude!!

Chrysa - for your information I too work in retail in the UK - if the company I work for treated people in the way you appear to - we would be out of business in double quick time. In order to ease your confusion - when I say "I do not want any business to close" I mean just that - even with the problems of translation I suspect its easy enough to understand.

Did you see your previous posts???I may be confused in the translation but i also think it's easy to understand from your posts what you really mean!! And Kathwebber did you ever buy anything from my shop?? What really gives you the right to know everything about my business even the way it has to work??

I don't claim to know everything about your business (just about how to treat customers) - I have been in your shop (Sept 2013) and no I didn't buy anything - I won't comment further as an honest comment would be offensive. For your information, anyone on this forum who actually do know me will confirm I would not wish any business anywhere - but particularly in Roda - to close.

Bad, bad customer services. An attitude like this won't entice any new customers into your shop, if they've read this thread.
Just saying..
