Got back last night from 2 lovely weeks staying at the Kosmas Apartments for the 3rd year running. Our flights ending up being on time but bizarre. On the way out from Birmingham on 22nd July we didn't fly Small Planet but Grand Cru and with complementary ham and cheese toasties and a soft drink....the nicest toasties I've had on a flight. On checking in last night at Corfu Airport we were told we would be flying with Cyprus Airways instead of Small Planet. Took of on time and I have to say it's one of the nicest European flights we've ever taken.....complementary 3 cours dinner, soft drinks and tea or coffee. I don't know who's paying for the change of airline but I'm not complaining.
As ever our time in Roda was great and it's amazing how the restaurant and bar owners remember you.....really heartwarming. Loved the new restaurant El Mar but I do hope they take on another pair of hands as demand was outstripping staff.....but that's not a complaint as the food is delicious and we highly recommend it.
Visited Pantokrator by car and then took a drive to the Donkey Sanctuary which was a lovely experience.
The festival in the village was great and I'm so glad we got to see it. The girl singer with the band was our morning bar/kitchen lady at Kosmas....she's working some very long hours....and the PA and band system is run by George who owns our apartments.
Had some lovely evenings in Crusoes and managed to come third in two of the quiz nights........granted there wasn't a huge amount of competition.
I actually thought the mosquitos were less than the last couple of years but I was dosed up with yeast tablets and hosed down with repellent!!!! The little blighters usually love me!!
I thought there wasn't a great deal of change in food/drink prices and we ate out every day........I am a cook by profession so that's my holiday perk!
I could write loads more but I won't bore you.
