Hope all the people who had a 20 hour delay Gatwick to Corfu Friday/Saturday with Small Planet see that article. Personally I wouldn't touch Olympic or Small Planet with a bargepole - I think they are in serious doo-doo

Just read on the Small Planet discussion forum (worse than reading a Stephen King book!!) that Meridan Avaition, who handled all flights for Olympic and others - mostly I think Small Planet Airlines - have gone into liquidation, and there is a comment 'expect delays'. Just a heads up.

Liz and I were significantly delayed on both our outward and return flights to Corfu (from/to Gatwick) back in July.
The "service" provided by Small Planet was contemptible - as too was that of Olympic Holidays staff. I won't go into the details since similar (and even worse) experiences are well represented by MANY others on the discussion forum mentioned above, by <lisydaly>.
Here's the link to that forum, for anyone interested - it's well worth reading through the 700+ comments on there . . . . .

I honestly don't know anything about "Travel Service Airlines" <gremlindog,>, but a quick check shows them to be a Czech airline (unlike SmallPlanet which is Lithuanian) which also operates under the name of "SmartWings".
I'm GUESSING that holiday tour operators, such as Olympic, are attempting to belatedly take damage limitation action, against their rock-bottom reputation achieved this year, by chartering/contracting other fleet aircraft to fill-in the gaps caused by the appalling record of Small planet ??
I suggest you do some research yourself on these 'new' airlines via "Google"!!

Meridian has definitely gone under - and they were mostly involved with Small Planet. And guess who was involved in Meridian - none other than Phil Wyatt, he of XL Leisure infamy. Olympic will be scrabbling around now I guess to get flights to cover anything Meridian was involved in. About time Mr Wyatt did the decent thing and owned up to how many companies he has been involved in and who have subsequently gone bankrupt. He should be put somewhere where he cannot under any circumstances open yet another company involved in the travel industry. Afghanistan looks good.................

I've done a bit more research as a result of your post <lisydaly>.
Found this News Release (dated 2-Aug-2013) from "Travel Weekly" . . . . .
. . . . which contains the following worrying statements:
1. A spokeswoman for Small Planet Airlines confirmed: "Small Planet is operating its schedule as normal."
2. Olympic Holidays, the operator with the largest number of seats with Meridian, reassured agents that clients' holidays would go ahead as planned.

I'm not sure what will happen with Meridian, but in many countries, companies that collapse are kept afloat as accountants step in to salvage what they can in the hope of finding a buyer. maybe all is not lost ...

So - it seems that "Small Planet" and "Olympic Holidays" are at it again . . .
