Me too!!!!
First bar I was ever in, in Roda & I still go there every night, when I'm there.
Always had a great night. Been through the thingytail menu many times! (not all in the one night, though! ;-)
Hope to get back out to see you all, next year!

Well.... As I said b4. There were 12 of us flew out to Roda, in 1994 for a fortnight. The world cup was on & Ireland were playing Italy (I think) that night. (In case you didn't know, my dad is Irish, so of course, he wanted to see the match!) The menfolk discovered the big screens in the Harbour Bar (back then it was just called Socrates!), within hours of landing (it was a night flight so we needed some sleep b4 we went out to see what was happening.) and decided that would be where the watched the game. Myself, my cousin & our 2 friends decided we didn't want to watch the footie, so we went for a wander round the village. Turned into a bit of a pub crawl, but as we came down through the old village - think we'd left Steli's bar - toward the beach, we heard a roar come from almost every bar in the vicinity & when we checked in The Crown we realised that Ireland were beating Italy. We decided that our lot would be having a good night, so we headed to the Harbour Bar. We arrived to what I can only describe as a party! lol At one point, I think it was standing room, only. Obviously realising there was fun to be had, Andreas & the boys and girls started the Greek dancing, with all us joining in. Never had so much fun! Socrates was down on the beach doing his fire dance & the whole place was joining him, doing the conga! lol We realised then, that this was a special place and a special family. And we spent EVERY night of our holiday in there, after that. Obviously we went to other places too, but had to go spend a couple of hours, at least, with the boys, drinking thingytails. From then on, I've spent mostly every night of my holiday in there. I have to pop in at least once a day, when I'm there. They're still one of the greatest families & there's usually always some sort of mischief going on. And just to tell them.....I'm not scared spiders!!!!! Anyway, if you're ever in the vicinity, give them a visit. Love to everyone at the Harbour Bar! Jackie x x x x ps. Great, great sunsets to be seen, if you're there early enough! pps. I'll try to find some pics of that first night, scan them in & post them sometime!

I first visited Roda in 1988 with family and friends before the Harbour Bar was there. My mum and dads friends stayed in the villa which a few years later was transformed into the Harbour Bar. We used to spend most days on the beach and me and my sisters became great friends with Socrates, Spiros, Viki & Demitria.
We visited Roda for our holidays for many years, and spent lots of entertaining days and nights at the Harbour Bar. We then had a family berevement and did not have a holiday for a couple of years.
I went back to Roda in 1999 with my boyfriend and we have since been back a couple of times. This year i decided to go into the Harbour Bar.......... as i wondered if the same people were still there. To my amazement they remembered me from all those years ago!!!!!!
As soon as i spoke to Spiros he remembered the nickname he used to call me and i was reminded of some great memories and happy times spent there.
I would recommened the Harbour Bar as it is a place where they never forget you and will always make you holiday a memorable one.
Crazy Tracy ;D
