We've been home nearly a week and I've just gathered my thoughts to give a little insight into our 2 weeks away. Hubby, 15yr old daughter and I flew out with Monarch from BHX on 23rd July. Absolutely no complaints regarding check in and fight with Monarch. Fellow holiday makers who had flown with Strategic had had some really horrendous delays.
Stopped at Kosmas Apartments in a 2 bed apartment as we did last year. We love the Kosmas Apartments and all the family and staff who looked after us.
Changed our money with Peggy at NSK Travel...lovely lady and great exchange rate. We also booked 2 trips with them....Paxos and Inter Paxos and Aqualand. Great trips but I'm beginning to think I should give up long coach/boat trips whilst on holiday....it really isn't my thing but it's certainly not a slight on the quality, value for money and experience that NSK provide....I'm just becoming lethargic lol.
Also booked a Jeep for the day with NSK....48 Euros for the day and we were so glad we ventured into the true Corfu. We visited Old Perithia, which was a magical place and on my list to do again.....so peaceful and quiet. Also headed to the NW coast Agios Georgios for lunch and a swim....great sea...even though hubby was nibbled by some sort of small fish. We then headed to Arillas and up the the Panorama Restaurant which provided stunning views across the sea.
We ate out every day as I'm a cook by profession so even though we were in self catering accommodation the most I did was chop fruit for breakfast and boil the kettle for tea!!!! Patronised several restaurants in Roda over the two weeks and also the great cooking by Momma at the Kosmas Apartments. All the produce they grow on the farm is used in the pool bar and is amazing.
My favourite restaurants are the NewPort and Nico's.....but I have to say the one we didn't particulary enjoy was Alexandros.
I'm sure there's plenty more I could say but enough of my ramblings.
A sincere thankyou to all those that answered any queries and advised on this forum....you are most kind.
We too have come to love Roda and the Kosmas Apartments and are seriously considering booking again for next year.
The Roda bug continues to bite
