Hi all, By means of introduction, we (myself, Mrs Me and 2 children) are heading out to Roda on Thursday 26th July for a week.
This will be our first "summer" holidya in over 10 years - we have tended to do lakes/mountains holidays, or stay at home camping.caravanning in recent years.
So very much looking forward to a "RELAXING" break. We hope we have chosen the right place.
We chose to stay at the Mitsis (sorry to all you local businesses) - but we will struggle to stay in one place for any length of time, so expect to be having a walk down to town most days for a change of scenery and maybe to relieve the noise levels. We're going to a busy family hotel in the peak summer holidays - gosh ... what has got into us? Peace n quiet - not expecting!
I have read contrasting reviews of the Mitsis on tripadvisor, especially over the last week, any positive assurances would be most welcome.
Very disappointed to have only found this web site and forum today, having booked the hotel several months ago ... lots of reading to do.
We have made a special request with the hotel for a room near the pool as our son has Downs Syndrome so we need to keep a close eye on him at all (most) times - not heard back from the hotel, not overly surprised at this, but if anyone here knows a better way to get our request listened to that would be fantastic.
Cannot wait until Thursday. Hope you all have a great time in Roda.
Mark.

Welcome to the Forum 'smithski'. Shame you've only just found it! I don't think I can help you with your specific request of a guaranteed way of erxtracting a response from the 'Mitsis', but I think that either of the Administrators (Artisans [Steve] or Pete Sant) of this Forum may well be able to help you - although I must admit that time is somewhat short! Anyway good luck, and I'm sure you and your family will have a thoroughly enjoyable holiday in Roda - regardless of which location you decide to use as your base. Rgds, Chris

I'm not sure what can be done in the time available, smithski, but I think emails do normally get answered. Try again, maybe, or telephone? After that, it's a chat with the management when you arrive. Thursday is not the biggest changeover day, so you may have a good chance if you're quick to act on arrival. Let us know how you get on so that others can benefit, or come along to new Port Restaurant on Wednesday at 11am and tell me personally.
Steve

Up until 2006, the Wife, son and I had holdayed in the UK: Wales , Lake District, IOW, all either in tents or cottages. I got a tan once in Wales, but got soaked regularly on other Welsh and Lakes holidays, experienced what Scott's last few hours must have been like in a tent near Sandown IOW in August (it was b****y freezing and perpetual gales) - as the boy got older and finances picked up, went to Zakynthos in 2006 (first time abroad since Corfu 1991) and there is no going back!
I'm sure Roda will be as, if not more, warm and interesting as Arilas, Agios Sostis Zakynthos, Platanes Crete, Polichrono Halkidiki and the wonderful Alykanas Zakynthos (3 times there)

I hope you have a great time in Roda Colin - and then return year after year. There is something about the village that draws you back and i and i am sure this will only be the start of your Roda adventures!
