Thanks folks, don't think it was anything to do with the sun or too much drink, I had just taken the smallest sip of a drink which went down the wrong way, started coughing & choking, stood up to get away from everyone - ever polite me - took one step on to the road and the next thing I remember is sitting back in my chair covered in blood and in a fair bit of pain, I was absolutely fine before and after it happened, apart from the pain. Anyway, enough of that, managed 3rd place in the quiz & Jackie won the stand up bingo, people are going to start talking soon, May & Ricky joined us and Steve & Jan also stopped by. Jomike showed me a photo of a barbequen that will keep you all guessing for a long time, I've told him to post it on here when he gets back home. Off to the F.G.T. at Theo's later where there should be a good turnout. Pete.

A good F.G.T. yesterday after which I walked down to the beach where a very strong Maestro had kicked off, it felt good after the scorching temperatures we've been having, the waves were crashing in so hard that we had to keep moving the sunbeds back and eventually had to abandon the front row. All is calm again today with a bit of cloud about & the forcast is for a few slightly cooler days. Despite thinking that we hadn't done too good we won the general knowledge quiz - I think the heat must have started to get to everyone. Dot said our team name should have been the black eyed peas - bless her ! Must remember to pay for last night's sea bass at Roda Park, it was so busy in there that to free up a table Costas told me not to bother paying there & then but to give it him some other time - where else would that happen ? Off to claim that free breakfast now followed by another lazy day on the beach - I can't manage anything else at the moment. pete.

I know what you mean Pete - no where else would that happen.
On one of our visits to Roda Park this summer my wife had a Greek Lady Ice Cream for afters (Ice cream/Baileys/Blue Curacoa/whipped cream and sparkler on top!).
We forgot to tell Costas about it when we paid the bill so i went back next morning square up the difference.
The reward for being honest? (not that we were looking for one)- the next night we were in Costas served my wife a Sea Bass that even he described as "a whale" and only charged for a small fish. Only in Roda!. Regards David

The main thing going on today is the start of the volleyball tournament, yesterday morning 4 lorry loads of fresh sand were delivered & spread out over the pitch and surrounding area & last night there was a team busy erecting the stands. Another free breakfast this morning thanks to Debbie winning the music quiz more or less on her own. To anyone who can get the time off work & can afford it I can thoroughly recommend the extra few days that we are having this year - tomorrow would have normally been our last day but we've still got 6 days to go - brilliant. Pete.

Pete, you have obviously taken advantage of that cheap flight on a Wednesday to Manchester - we have looked at that with envy! Enjoy your 6 days and hopefully you will be feeling a little better every day.
kind regards, Kath (and the gang)

Enjoy the volleyball Pete.
Great you have still got 6 days to go - as you probably know the weather in the UK has been shocking - flash floods/lightning/and extremely wet!
You really don't want to come home tomorrow -you have played an ace move by taking the extra days!
Have fun in the sun!.
Regards David

Nothing much to tell you this morning as life goes on at a gentle pace here in the village, this would normally have been our last day so everything is a bonus from now on. Won the filum quiz last night & Steve won the stand up bingo, that's 3 forum members winning it in the first 6 occasions, get yourselves down to Crusoe's when you are here, you never know your luck. Missed the volleyball yesterday as it was on from 4 till 9, today it's a 12 hour session so we should catch some of it. Jomike has been out & about on his quad bike and has got some cracking photos of the local wildlife, I 've asked him to put some on hear when he gets home. Just been outside where the sun is already hot, looks like another lazy down the beach. pete.

Watched some of the volleyball today - how they play in this heat is a credit to them, when the tournament is finished later there is going to be a beach party which shouild be good. We had a real laugh a minute nite at the forum bar - sorry - Crusoe's - last night, the cracked rib took a right pounding, thought Vodkalil might have popped in but she was probably out looking for that Campari sign, perhaps we'll see her tonight. I expect the excitement is at fever pitch in Nikki's house, can't wait to see them all tomorrow. I have to repeat the warning to anyone heading here - bring plenty of sunscreen, it's still very hot, there were lots of new arrivals on the beach with very very red skin today. Big decision now is where to eat tonight, not had a bad meal yet, perhaps Pangalos or upstairs at Smiley's. pete.
