This is the email response I received from Kiss Flights today. No confirmation of figures put to them, or any other reasons as to what may happen to the other seats. I am now going to email Meridian Aviation UK Ltd, to see if they can shed any light on the remainder of the seats available on these aircraft, and who is taking them up. Some one has too, a flight is not going to fly with 20 odd people onboard. Watch this space.
Yeiamas, Chris
Dear Christopher, I am writing further to my previous e-mail and to aid in the clarification of Kiss Flights as a seat only tour operator. We have been set up by Meridian Aviation UK Ltd who provides us with a variety of flexible allocations to sell under our ATOL licence for our charter programme. They will also provide seats on those same aircraft to other tour operators for which we are not responsible for and cannot comment on their own ATOL arrangements. I trust this now answers your question. Yours Sincerely,

Thanks Chris - sounds like first come, first served - if they sell 25,000 seats quickly, then that's it. I guess that commercially, they will adjust the seat prices according to sales volume until the last of their allocation is sold. What we can't monitor is whether they sell more than their allocation.

As an afterthought, I always prefer to deal with a company that will answer my questions. In my experience, it's the ones who avoid you that you need to worry about.

Tonight I have sent the following email to the Meridian Aviation UK Ltd who are the body who allocate the seats on aircraft for various airlines and tour operators.
Yeiamas, Chris
FAO: Operations Management.
I am involved with websites that are based around holiday destinations, and offer help to people who maybe considering a holiday at these destinations. I found out about Kiss Flight seats availability for 2009, but was intrigued as to what, or who will be getting the rest.
I have recently been in communications with the airline Kiss Flights who has been allocated 25000 for the year 2009. On looking at the Kiss Booking website I was intrigued to find that per week their are 19 flights from Manchester, and 20 flights from London Gatwick to various destinations, including Corfu, Zante, and other resorts in Greece, Turkey and Spain.
On talking to Kiss Flights, and pointing out that this number of flights offers a seating capacity of over 162000 seats throughout 2009. In reply Kiss Flights indicated that they had been only allocated 25000 ATOL Registered Flight Only seats.
In light of recent events such as the collapse of XL, and many passengers losing any compensation because of companies not being ATOL registered, it made me think would the seats remaining, some 137000 be allocated in the same way as they are to Kiss. The reason I am concerned of this is because normally Flight Only seats are not normally ATOL registered resulting in no compensation if another XL disaster happens.
Could Meridian Aviation be so kind as to indicate where the remainder of the seats from the 39 weekly flights are being allocated to, ie, which airlines, tour operators, etc. You will appreciate that people are concerned, because of the events of 2008.
I look forward to your response in due course.
Kind Regards, Christopher Way.

Surprisingly, and like many other aviation companies, I have not heard back from Meridian as yet. I have just this minute resent the original email.
It really does peeve me off when these high and mighty consortiums do not answer. With out us they would be lost and broke.

As I said before, Chris - I tend to trust the ones who respond and mistrust all of the others. You'd think they would learn!

Nor mine, and I have corresponded and told them so. I have not received one word from them in reply to my emails as quoted above. I cannot abide companies who refuse to respond to a potential customer. By the way, I think the boss of XL has something to do with these also.

In my experience, Chris, the staff in any company mimic the attitude of the boss/manager/owner. Generally speaking, if you walk into a shop and get rough treatment from an employee, you won't get much further by asking to see the manager. On the other hand, there are some good firms where everybody seems to take delight in serving you - these are the ones, the only ones, we should be supporting. In Roda, we are lucky, in the main, to be dealing directly with the business owner wherever we go. You have an issue with something and you speak your mind. This is very much the Greek way, as if I need to tell you!
Unfortunately, in Corfu, we don't have the luxury of being able to 'shop around' for better service where air travel is concerned. Question - have you tried emailing the MD of 'Kiss' personally? Maybe you would get a different response.

A long delay, because I thought I would give them time to respond. I did find the email for the big boss or similar, and sent the email with the previous addressees as BCC. To date, I have had no reply, not one word. So I have sent them an email Christmas Card wishing them an unsuccessful New Year, and where they can stick their airline and/or tour company. Shear ignorance as far as I am concerned.
