For anyone flying from Manchester with Easyjet - this year they are using terminal 1 NOT terminal 3 as per every other year. pete.

Hi Jackie, although it's a lot bigger than terminal 3, away from the shops & cafes it's a similar layout - two very long sets of departure gates, get there in plenty of time & try to spot the gate/ gates that Easyjet are using, then plonk yourselves down close to one of them so that you can get close to the front of the queue ready for boarding. I'll text you the gate number that we go from - they tend to use the same area for all their flights. P.S. - tell Colin that rumour has it that there is a smoking area in terminal one ! see you real soon. pete.

I'm Manchester this year and had heard about smoking area...I looked up Manchester airport and went in search (as you do) and yes it's true!! Not much good to non-smokers but a good bit of info if you do.

Terminal One smoking area - go upstairs to the food hall - there is a sign directing you to the smoking area (it's just past Giraffe restaurant). I know these things - find smoking area first, then where the the ladies are!!

I'm just thinking then.... Will Easyjet have a case drop off place, if you do your own check-in, since it's T1?!?

Hi Vodkalil. Below is the text of EJ's 'simple' guide to online check-in, followed by the link to the page I got it from. Just for info., I know from experience that the service is not available on my Corfu flights, from Bristol - but don't know about other airports? Rgds, Chris GOOD LUCK !!! ___________________________________________________ Online check-in is available for passengers with and without hold baggage. This service is optional and free of charge. If you did not check in online you will need to check in at the airport.
You can check in online and print your boarding pass from 30 days and up to 2 hours before the scheduled departure of your flight. Any subsequent flights in the same booking taking place within 30 days from your first flight will also be available for online check-in.
There are 3 ways of checking in online:
• choosing the online check-in option at the time of making the booking on www.easyJet.com
• choosing the online check-in option via My easyJet – available only if you made your booking online via www.easyJet.com,
• or simply by choosing the 'Check in online' window on our home page www.easyJet.com located in the bottom right-hand corner.
Your boarding pass will open as a PDF file. Once your boarding pass has been printed you are checked in for your flight and if you are travelling with hand baggage only you can take your printed boarding pass and proceed straight through airport security, ensuring you have the correct travel documents with you. You can also check-in online if you are bringing hold baggage to the airport. Some airports with bag drops allow you to check-in online and then quickly and easily ‘drop off’ your hold baggage before you go through security. Bag drops close 40 minutes prior to the scheduled departure of your flight. For those airports without bag drops or self service kiosks, you can still check-in online if you have hold baggage but you will need to queue up at the check-in desk as normal. Once your baggage has been checked in you will be given a new boarding pass. Important: Certain airports are subject to different check-in desk and gate closure times. Check your flight confirmation email and your online boarding pass respectively for specific details.____________________________________________________ Website Link: easyjet.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4117/kw/online%20check-in

Panic yee not ladies, either follow the steps in Chris's post & check in online by printing your boarding cards, or just get to the airport in plenty of time & check in in the normal fashion. I have found over the years with Easyjet that you can use either the dedicated bag drop off desk or the normal check in desk to get rid of your bags, there never seems to be big queues with Easyjet especially on your return flight because everyone is turning up in small parties with no little hitlers in uniforms telling you where to stand in line, check in at Corfu end is at a dedicated desk whether you have a boarding pass or not. Happy holidays to you all, i'm counting the hours now - not that i'm getting excited or anything ! pete.
