I for one don't mind the add on's so long as the price is clearly shown at check out online and that is the final price... I feel with other airlines this is the case but with Ryanair there are still a few surprises in store at the airport, this is where I feel Ryanair rip us off. Once I have booked and paid for everything it's time to look forward to your journey but with Ryanair this doesn't always appear to be the case, if they charged everything at the one time then perhaps people wouldn't be as wary about booking with them and they would get better press. This is just my opinion and may not be the same as someone elses opinion!

As I said Steve, I do fly with Ryanair, and have done so for some time, in particular for ease of getting from A to B. However, I still find that offering a price at the beginning of a transaction, only to have a completely different and elevated price at the end is not in my opinion good business.
If one looked into a shop window and saw an item for sale at £20, and then went in to buy, to find at the checkout the price had increased to £40, one would have reason to complain. I feel this is not disimilar to what Ryanair is doing.
Just because does not advocate the business transactions of a company, it does not mean they do not use them. I think we all have a gripe about fuel charges, but we still drive our cars.
I certainly do not see what my gripe with this or any airline has any affect on my love for Corfu.

I don't want these technicalities to rumble on Chris, but your analogy of the shop window does not work for me - unless you are looking at a dress or shoes, maybe. If it was a kitchen showroom, a kitchen may be advertised for £3000 in its basic form, in the knowledge that few people will want it that way. You add on the extras and arrive at a new price. No one is surprised or has any objection. If you are selling kitchens, how else do you approach this issue? The fact is that tourism now has many variables and people want freedom of choice. Until this trend changes, that's the way it is.

I'm not normally one to 'get involved' in this type of discussion but I honestly can't see the problem. If Ryanair, like other airlines, are adding these extras on at the end then surely they are doing us a favour as they are giving us a CHOICE. We can choose whether we have a meal, take extra equipment, buy their insurance or take an extra case. Isn't that a good thing? and at the end of the day, it's the final price that matters and there can't be many people who wouldn't bother to check the final figure before going through to checkout on anything they buy
