Not sure how the coaches will get you to Makis at the moment - the summer one-way restrictions are now in place (in winter it's a free-for-all!), there are No-Entry signs by Nino's, the car park is 'work in progress' and the road by Valentinos is closed. I don't expect it to stay that way for long, but the next few days might be difficult. A boat from Kassiopi maybe? Steve

Hi Saint, how about if you buy the darkest sunglasses possible & ask Socrates to turn the sign on all the time - problem solved. pete.

Reading this thread again got me thinking - whatever happened to the proposed webcam at Harbour Bar?
regards, Kath.

Avrio, Kath! Actually, I think it was more to do with security. Because it'd have to be on the outside section of the bar, I think they were worried about installing a camera, in case it was stolen. Don't quote me on this, though!

It's changing every day Jackie. I now see the sense in why the hole was dug one day and filled in the next. The rock was extracted, the hole filled with soil, and now the interlocking steel shuttering is going into the soil. Next, I guess, the hole will be re-dug and the concrete chamber constructed. I think the road by Valentino's has re-opened, so there is access that way now. Access was closed this morning by the bridge as the pile driver was at work, but that may be finished today. Yesterday was tricky, but I expect taxis will get through somehow. If necessary, give me a call and I'll come to the crossroads with a wheelbarrow for your luggage. ;D

Hi Kath - the webcam idea died a natural death I think and I was never quite sure why. I will mention it to Socrates when I see him - he must be hiding at the moment - we'll see what the latest excuse is (ooops! did I say that? ) I'm not convinced it's a good idea anyway - what does everyone think? 'Karotsaki' is the word, kaz, same as a wheelchair! We could always put Jackie in the 'karo' and let Colin carry the bags! Steve

Sounds like a plan, Steve! lol I'm sure that Makis would be on hand with his trolley (or even the very obliging taxi driver - they always are) to get me & my luggage to Number 10 Makis!
