Well - when the last easyJet flight took off last night (half an hour late I believe) it signified the severing of the direct links from Corfu to many European countries. There are lots of through flights with both Aegean and Olympic airlines. People will mostly travel through Athens to get on and off the Island until the direct links are re-established next year. The friends, Sam & Kirsty, who had been with us for the last week were picked up by taxi driver, Kostas, who was making his final trip to the airport for this season's visitors. So today, the village was without holiday makers but those that were here for the last week of the season had great weather and temperatures good enough for sunbathing and swimming in the sea. Don't dispair though - Roda Online will keep you going all winter, with online chat sessions, winter teasers, plenty to talk about, new additions to the website to look at and within the next few day a round-up newsletter!. So, stayed tuned, we need you too! Julie & Steve

I'd also like to agree with Lynda and thank Julie and Steve for what they've done and what they continue to do on a daily basis. I genuinely feel that we've all become friends on the forum, whether we've met in Roda or not, we all have the same thing in common - WE ALL LOVE RODA ;D I'd also like to thank all of the businesses in Roda for making our holidays such happy ones and I hope you all have a relaxing winter. Nikki (hope that didn't sound too soppy)

I have the same problem, because I have been online a lot the last few weeks. Men (not all of the them) don´t seem to understand what's "driving" us.... Even my son of 17 is referring to me as a "no-lifer", spending time behind the computer too much. Maybe he's ( a liitle bit ) right though....

Hi Everyone
Just wanted to say thank you for all your support both for Steve and I and in particular for the village.
It was so important that Roda's presence on the Internet continued, without interruption, and we simply made sure that that link was maintained both for Roda's extended family and for the future of the village.
Without your enthusiasm the task would have been much harder. Roda has a dynamic website with a great team of people behind it. The website does make a difference and it gives everyone a year-round link with Roda.
We are looking forward to keeping the site moving forward over the winter and seeing what 2009 brings.
Thanks J & S

Flo and I agree that once you leave Roda you can't wait to get back. Well everyone make the winter shorter by booking early then you WILL have something to look forward to. Another thing, Pipitsa has put central heating into her apartments and she does say that the aprtments are open all year round so for those who are thinking of Christmas in Roda why not contact Pipitsa asap. Saving that you will just have to book with this kind and wonderful lady for another time next year. Keep up the good work with the Forum. We look forward to reading your up-dates during the cold, wet and windy winter. - Laurence & Florence P.S. Eazyjet timetables from Gatwick to Corfu are out on 1st December according to their website.
