Finally getting round to doing my review, myself, Neil, Nathan, Molly and Gail were at Sidari from 8th July to 15th July and had a great time there, we then went from the 15th to 22nd to the Kosmas in Roda. The apartments at the Kosmas were lovely, both our studios had lovely big balconies and the apartments were spotless. None of us liked the atmosphere at the pool and poolbar so we spent most of our time either in Roda or at the Roda Oasis where Nikos anf Kostas and Jackie looked after us wonderfully as usual.
I personally found it far too hot in July but am coming back with Gail in September when it is cooler and I can enjoy walking in the sun without needing 3 litres of water and a towel to dry myself lol. What can I say Roda as always was beautiful and we had delicious meals in the retaurants we went to, it was great to see all our friends in Roda they made us feel so welcome as usual. It was great just to walk along the main road into roda at night for a meal then crusoes for the quiz which we never came anywhere near wining by the way, up to mistrals for a couple of cocktails, then on to the roda oasis where most nights i had to give in and take my teenage kids to the apartment about 3ish. Our holiday went in far too quickly but only 7 and a bit weeks until i am back

Hi Sheena so pleased you and Gail and family had a great time in Sidari and then Roda. As you say everyone is so friendly. As for the quizzes at Crusoe's I don't come anywhere close unless it is the general knowledge ones. Five weeks next Monday till out there

Here's a link to a short video of Kosmas: Walking to the beach is OK (although there are no real pavements along the dusty main road towards Roda Crossroads). The distance from Kosmas to the beach is about 1 kilometre. Below is an image, which shows where Kosmas Appartments is, in relation to the village and beach. The area enclosed by the red line is where most of Roda's Tavernas, Bars and Restaurants are. Recommending just one of them to eat in is tough; I would suggest though, for your first night, the "Roda Park" where you will receive a very warm welcome from Costas, his wife Voula and their staff - and the food and hospitality is excellent. If you look around this Forum you will find many recommendations for this restaurant together with dozens of others! As for the pool area; IF you don't find it relaxing enough then you can always make use of any of the other pools in Roda - almost all are open to the public for free (although it's courtesy to purchase some drinks/snacks whilst there). Hope all this is of some use to you Rgds, Chris (& Liz)

Hi Seachelle
We are also going to Roda in 2 weeks time (23rd) staying at the Roda Oasis which is right next door to the Kosmas, the apartments at the Kosmas are lovely and clean, of a good standard for Greece, the beds I thought were ok to sleep in although it may have been the metaxa that made me sleep all night lol. We personaly didnt like the atmosphere round the pool but not everyone is the same. There were plenty of people at the pool when we were there, our own personal experience was that the staff did not speak to us, i think it was because we went out all the time and never sat in the pool bar, we spent most of our time at the roda oasis as we are very good friends with the owners there. It is only a short walk into Roda and when it is very warm it is horrendous lol.
Roda itself has lots of great restaurants our own personal favourite is Nikos family taverna which is right next to roda park. There is also plenty of nice bars for a quiet or roudy night (whichever you prefer). We have never had a bad meal in any restaurant in the 11 years that we have been going to Roda, if you fancy a chat pop into the roda oasis and ask for Gail and Sheena, hope to see you at the forum meeting when we are there and that you have a great time in Roda

seachelle, just INCASE you dont like to stay at your hotels pool, you could consider going next door to Metallinos apartments'Pool. Very quiet and relaxing there and a wonderful big pool ! I am sure the owners won't mind for you to use the pool as long as you have (pay for) your drinks and snacks there!!

Oh god I am starting to get a bit worried about next year now!
Hopefully we will all be ok at Kosmas apartments - at the end of the day though it is only a place to lay your weary head and like you all seem to say, if we dont like the pool we can go elsewhere!

We were at Kosmas for two weeks from 22nd and it's our third visit to them. We've never eaten every dinner at the pool bar and often walk into Roda for our evening meals. The Kosmas family and staff have never been anything other than friendly and welcoming with us but I guess you speak as you find.
