We've been blessed this autumn with consistently good weather - low winds, clear skies and temperatures into the mid-twenties. The sea is still warm enough to swim in and many still do. Today has been idyllic, but it is unlikely to be repeated until next year as temperatures start the slow, but steady fall to more normal autumn levels. With rain & thunder forecast before the weekend, it is fairly certain that shorts & 'T' shirts will have to be put away for another year and socks worn for the first time since May. It doesn't matter, the last visitors enjoyed good weather to the end and the village is now settling into its 'off-season' mode as people and boats and dogs all gather around the harbour to renew friendships and generally get on with life. Roda is a good place to be at any time of year.

Hi Julie & Steve, you lucky people to still be in Roda. We put our shorts and T-shirts away nearly 4 weeks ago. We've been in jumpers, trouser's and anaraks since returning to the UK. Just like to say you are doing a brill job on this new site (not that you did'nt on the old one) ;D keep at it, we are all behind you, we will soon get Roda back on it's feet. How nice to see your photo on the boards. Margaret

Well, I was wrong - yesterday's idyllic day paled into insignificance today. Today was just about the most perfect day I ever remember in Roda. It was so quiet and peaceful you could hear a pin drop & it was difficult to remember that it was a weekday. Yesterday's light easterly breeze disappeared altogether and I really felt overdressed in 'T' shirt & shorts. As we walked around the village, we could feel the sun beating down on our backs and everybody we met was so happy. At 2:30, we went to the beach for two hours and the water was so nice to swim in. It is hard to believe that this time last year, the wood burner was lit and we were all wrapped up and buying hot soup & rolls at Pirate's Bar. the forecast now - no rain until Thursday - maybe! Here are two photos:

I've only ever seen it that quiet at 7.30am when being picked up on that corner for a day trip!
Roll on next June!
