Finally decided to sit down and write another review.
This is my second time in Roda, once again staying at the Pegasus. A hotel which I can not fault, spotless, friendly staff and because the weather was better I managed to spend a few hours in their large pool without freezing my nads off (unlike last year).
Because we were staying longer I managed to experience more of the resort, different restaurants and bars. Now I don't want to bore you by reviewing them all but I'll give you a short snippet for each:
Smilies: Great location with rooftop restaurant view and a decent value set menu, and very friendly staff.
Roda Park: Just one thing really if you can only go there once in your holiday make sure it's a Wednesday night Costa and his crew do an excellent Greek night.
Possidion: If your hungry go here the portions are massive (that's an understatement) and the price is very reasonable - Cheapest meal of the holiday.
Odysseus: Good value traditional Greek restaurant with a liqueur thrown in at the end.
Now if you are tight up or you're trying to save some money for drink. I would also recommend trying the Grill Room and have a Kebab and no they aren't anything like the Kebabs you get in the UK.
Seems we are onto drinking I'll move onto the Bars.
Crusoe's: Great cocktail menu, challenging quizzes and friendly staff. Cocktail prices Approx, €4.
Sandy's Arms: One place in town that I found that serves Guinness by the Draught which was €4.50 a pint which is cheaper than Dublin.
Skouners: I would describe it like a wine bar but with out wine bar prices. Bottle of Strongbow €3.50. Oh also they do great pies during the day.
Nemo's: Great iced chocolate drinks and brilliant bouncy castle for the kids I want a go but I'm a tad old.
For all the late night early morning revellers there is the Drunken Sailor, can't remember much about the prices because either I may have been a tad tipsy or to tired to be bothered. But it does have two sections a chill out bar away from the music and a bar with a dance floor with the music so suits most people. Also this bar stays open until my buddy Allan (generally drinking Amstrel) goes home so if you see him(usually there after 2am) make sure you say hello.
Now finally the best part of my holiday this time was making some new great friends Rachael you may see her in and around Alexandros and Nemo's looking after an ikle one and Allan who works in Smilies until the wee hours then heads to the Sailor, so if you see either say hello to them for me.
I hope this gives you a good insight, and for some one who said he would spend no longer the 1 week in one place Roda has definitely won me over and I am looking forward to September. ;D
