Hi, Just got back from Roda and stayed at the Afrodite hotel...we were a bit concerned about the time of year and visiting a quiet resort and also had concerns about the weather, but, i am pleased to say I have come back with a tan and had a great time. I had not heard of Roda originally as i had booked to go to Kavos for a lively holiday and got re allocated by thomas-cook. I accepted the holiday that i was allocated in Roda and was unsure of the destination but it turned out to be an amazing trip away and i will be going back in the future! I love Greece anyway but Roda as a relaxing trip is a must. And the best place to eat is defo Roda Park! I have never laughed so much while eating my tea!! LOVED IT!!!

Hi Charlieb.
Welcome......
Glad you enjoyed your re-allocated holiday and now we have a new Roda convert. The more you visit Roda - the more you love it......I speak from experience, and you will see that all on this site will echo my comments.
Look forward to your future input.

Hi charlieb, Good to read that you enjoyed your stay in Roda . Being a `youngster`, I can understand you first were looking for a stay in Kavos, but this village unfortunately has turned into a bad place to go in the last few years. We stayed at Ag Georgios South this summer, which is also a nice little village to go to, and one night one of the waiters, of the hotel we were staying ,asked my son of 17 to come and go to Kavos for a night out. We were not sure about this because we already heard a lot of bad stories. A greek friend of ours however advised him (and us) very specific NOT to (let him ) go there. All night long there are people drinking (a lot) and fighting, and there is glass all over the place. He told us if he had to be in the village for business, he would leave his car 1 kilometer outside the village, to do his business and then quickly leave again, during daytime that is !! There are a lot of nice villages to spend your holidays at the island of Kerkyra. I also visited Acharavi, Ipsos and Pyrgi (and Ag Georgios) but think for me Roda is the best place to be. For families, but for youngsters also. My kids love it as much as I do ( and did when I was 20 years old). Unfortunately Kavos has become a "bad" place to go to, and my heart goes out to all the Greek who have to earn their living there. How can they "turn the tide?" They earn a lot by having all these young tourists over , but loose a lot too.......
