I was thinking that you might be blue with cold, or maybe a little bit rude and risque, Shezza! A warm filter might make you walk more slowly and give me time to focus, a red one might make any pink bits more noticeable - oops!, did I say that? Lips, I was thinking - the case for the defence rests, m'lud!

Sorry for the delay folks, I've actually got 38 hours off !!! The Panorama ....... you get what you pay for !! Rooms 1, 2, and 3, have a small balcony which overlook the 'main road' (straight opposite the Drunken Sailor). room 5 overlooks the pool (refreshing) but rooms 4, 5, 6, and 7, overlook each other. The rooms are mostly very ''compact'' but adequate (in my opinion) if you want to spend the minimum time in them (i.e. sleeping !!!). Definitely NOT RECOMMENDED if you want to cook in your room, sit on the balcony sipping wine and waste the life that the village can offer. The rooms are spotlessly clean but are in serious need of a face-lift. Although we had a problem with the shower, (reported but not repaired) I like the place!!!! Maybe my appreciation of space is different from most people having spent many years in the Submarine Service so to me more space doesn't mean more comfortable. Would I stay there again ? ...... YES. FOOD ...... yes please... give me more!!! To pick a favorite would be a dis-service. Yet again I didn't have a bad meal in Roda !!! If you want to eat burger and chips in Roda ........ fill your boots !!! It'll leave more of the traditional Greek food for yours truly !! As some of you may know, I'm allergic to tomatoes, but I've found that Greek dishes , made with the authentic tomato sauce ( no puree, ketchup, paste or other pre-prepared ingredients) has very little effect on me. Bring on Shrimp saganaki, Stifado, Meatballs (sorry, I can't spell it in Greek, but I can sure eat it !!!). If you want a tip on where to go for a particular dish .... send me a Personal Message ..... Just Eat GREEK !! I've read Posts on being over-charged, short-changed etc on the odd occasion I've been able to glance at the Forum. I'm surprised and greatly saddened by this. As I know that many of our friends who own/lease/run Tavernas in Roda will see this, or be informed of this, I feel sure that this ''practice'' will die an un-naturally early death. Although I've been a visitor to Corfu for more than 20 years I know very little of the ''real'' Greek culture and traditions. My fault ...... I just enjoy myself so much in their company that I don't FEEL like an outsider ........ even when sitting in an all Greek company, understanding (I hope) two or three words in forty, I don't feel ''left out''. The one thing that I do really understand is the pride that is dearly held by all Greeks that I've ever met. A Free Nation with a Proud People ....... Amen ! ENTERTAINMENT!!! Look-alikes, Karaoke, Bingo, everywhere. BUT .... if you don't like it... don't go !!! There are still plenty of places to go and enjoy a quiet evening if you can get away from FOOTBALL !!! So, what did we do on our hols ........ We did what we wanted to do .... We ate, WE drank (lots) We did what We wanted to do.... we Enjoyed ourselves. Thank you Roda !!!!!!

They have also announced that Glasgow will be a new operating base with nine new routes - unfortunately, Corfu is not one of them. I was excited when I first heard that Jet2 were adding Glasgow as a base. And the day the routes were released, I was straight on the website, only to be left devastated that yet again a budget airline doesn't seem to think that Glasgow - Corfu is a viable route to add.

Chrissey, it was me that posted about the flights! lol
And Kaz, what are you on about the Scottish being tight? Nobody even mentioned money. I'm assuming when Chrissey said 'you get short changed in Glasgow', she meant we don't get a good deal with flights at all, compared to everywhere else.

Hi Jacks, are there ever any late package hols available from Glasgow? Just a friend of mine who lives as close to Newcastle airport as I do has twice in the past 3 years booked package holidays from Glasgow to Corfu - it must have been a lot cheaper than from Newcastle for her to do that. But I know that when ever I look for cheap last minute deals I never seem to be able to nab one! It must be extremely frustrating for you knowing exactly where you want to go but being prevented because of high costs. I dont suppose its cost-effective for you to fly from Newcastle either.
will keep everything crossed that you manage to get sorted for next year.
best wishes, Kath.
