Hi all,
I have just heard that Jimmy has passed away. He lived in a caravan and walked everywhere with his dog Amber.
I used to chat to him and give his dog biscuits and bits of food. I hope he wasn't on his own. Is Amber being looked after?
Can someone tell me if this is correct! He was a colorful character in the village.
Jilly

Hi Jilly - Jim died two weeks ago on Wednesday. Amber is still there and being fed by Hilary who lives nearby. People are trying to find her a home, but it is not that easy for a dog who is 9 or 10 years old.

I'll find out Lynda - last time I checked, about three days ago, she had not returned for food for two days. No news since.

Update on Amber - for the last three weeks, Amber has taken up residence at the Roundabout Bar, by the crossroads, in Roda. She is around the bar for most of the day and is being well looked after by staff and customers. It is thought that she sleeps nearby at night.
At the end of the season, the bar will be open every evening, but for only three days a week in the daytime. Hilary will feed her every day, but it would be good to find her a permanent home. She is very well behaved in the bar, very friendly and her health is improving daily. Hopefully someone will help but, in any case, she will be well looked after.

Amber is thriving at the Roundabout Bar and is looking fit and very slightly overfed! Hilary opens up on Wednesday, Friday & Saturday, but also goes to feed Amber on the other days.

More sad news last week - many people will have spoken to John & Eileen who took extended visits to Roda every year. They both used electric scooters and sat outside Roda Inn. Sadly, John passed away just over a week ago, aged 85. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. I have passed on our condolences to their son, Alan, who worked at Smiley's this season.

So sorry to hear this news. We got to know them well the last few years having stayed at the Roda Inn while they were there. Please pass on our sympathies to the family. Richard And Maureen Allen
