Well what another brilliant holiday, probably the best yet. Like Lynda I'll try and make it short but it probably won't happen.
We arrived in the early hours of Sunday morning starving as we hadn't eaten a proper dinner the night before so we dumped our cases and went in search of some lovely Greek food. Luckily the Roda Grill was open and we had the most amazing Gyros and souvlaki. Just what the doctor ordered.
On the way back to the apartment we found Pete, Debbie, Jackie and Colin at Crusoes. We stayed at Sprios Banos' apartment which were the best ones we've stayed in. Still typical Greek but with the luxury of a double bed, a washing machine and more living space which meant Alisha had her own area to sleep in. It was also detached which is always a bonus when you've got 3 kids! I managed to get a fair bit of washing done before coming home and got a great deal of pleasure hanging it out to dry with the sea and the mountains for scenery rather than my back garden.
On the Sunday evening we had our get together at Crusoes where I met the lovely Lynda and her mum. Unfortunately they were going home the next day so we didn't get to spend any more time with them.
I went to both FGT's while I was there and it was good to see Steve as well as Bigjohn again. It was also great to meet Dave and Lynda, Jo and Mike, Tartannie, Major and Minor and probably a few more that I can't remember.
It was lovely to see Maggie again and we had breakfast there most mornings. We also had Alisha's birthday meal there on the Tuesday evening and Maggie had a cake made for her and decorated the table with rose petals and balloons etc. which was really nice.
Dinner was a big problem for us this year as there were so many restaurants to choose from. We ate at Roda Park, Estrella, Opa, Thalasea, Odysseus, Smileys etc. but found that 2 weeks wasn't nearly enough to get round them all and to go to our favourite ones more than once
Eleni at Opa is a lovely lady and was very impressed when Tyler asked for his drink and meal in Greek and at Smileys we stayed for a Greek night where myself and the girls joined in with the dancing and Melissa was chosen to sit on the table whilst being held in the air by the dancers mouth.
We spent most days at Theo's pool and also had a couple of really good days out. We hired a car from Dromeas and went to Paleo and Corfu Town which I wrote about from Pirates bar and we also went to Hydropolis for the all inclusive day. We booked through Nostos Travel and it cost 98 euros for the five of us. This included travel, entry and as much food, ice cream and drink as you could manage. It was a brilliant day out which I would thoroughly recommend.
As somebody mentioned earlier the new pavement looks really good and is much safer to walk on and the owners have done a great job with their new frontages. It certainly hasn't spoilt the Roda we know and love, just enhanced it greatly.
Ok I'll stop now, sorry it was so long but it really was a lovely holiday and I can't wait for the next one.
