Not sure Kath - I was told yesterday that Co-op, Cosmos, Monarch - call them what you will - took 5000 beds this summer and have filled them all. Venus started with an allocation of six rooms and that has been increased because of demand. Charlie is pleased with the result, but he still has some rooms as independents. He also lets rooms in Villa Maria, immediately across the quiet lane and just as close to the pool as his own apartments. I expect these will still be available and they may suit some people better. The grounds are not as well-kept, but the apartments are a similar specification. I need to see Charlie soon and I will ask.
See you soon, Steve

just received a return call from direct holidays, saying there have been no errata raised regarding my booking at the roda oasis and i have been assured that my rooms should be available as stated.
they also stated that the schedule of holidaymakers going to any hotel or accommodation is not released to owners until 1 week prior to their arrival. which i interpret as implying if there are any overbooking it is not as a result of direct holidays overbooking the accommodation.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I find Direct Holidays remarks in the 2nd paragraph very hard to believe. If one is booking a holiday, regardless of when, it is up to them to notify the hotel/accommodation owner with immediate effect surely. Second, are they not allocated so many rooms, therefore they should know instantly when they have reached their target or not, without allocating to the private rooms.
It is high time that some sort of legislation is pressed onto these people. Far to many reports are coming out regarding such matters, and many more.

Be sure to inform them that you are recording the call as they'll scream blue murder if you don't. Mind you, if your memory is like mine, you might just forget to inform them until the end of the call ( with your sincere apologies for being so absent minded, of course).
