Just wanted to say Hi to you all. I have been reading the forum for the last few weeks after accidentally coming across Roda! I typed in a wrong web address, and ended up reading about Roda when in fact at the time I was looking for B&B's in England. By the time I had finished reading up on Roda I had persuaded myself that it was just as cheap to go to Corfu than it was to stay in England so we are due to fly out on 12th July. We are staying at Ninos on the beach - haven't read that many reviews on it but it seems OK. It looks like there are lots of restaurants and bars to keep me and hubby entertained. It is our first holiday abroad without our boys (17 and 21). We are leaving them home alone I know, but it has to happen sometime. Maybe we will see some of you out there and who knows, if its as fantastic as you all say, there is that week I have booked off in September....... Carol

Hi Carol. I'm sure you'll love Roda. We've never stayed at Ninos but have eaten at the restaurant several times. The food and the people that own it are great. It's in a great spot, right on the beach. We go to Roda on 5th July for 2 weeks. This will be our 1st holiday without the children too. Have a good time. Luv Jan X

Welcome to the forum Carol - and welcome to Roda. If you came across Roda by accident, you should go out now and buy a lottery ticket because your luck is in! I have just walked back from Nino's and it is a balmy evening. The cloud formations over Albania are stunning and everyone is ambling along the seafront, relaxed, happy and contented. Nino's was once with a tour company and for the last few years they have been independent. Danny just told me that they are having a good year and, in this economic climate, that is a tribute to their hard work in making Nino's a preferred destination. I was down there looking for my dog, an English setter called Petra, who prefers to beg rather than eat the food that I prepare. If you see her, do not feed her - she is a con-woman! Don't worry about your boys, just leave them with a number of a local contract cleaner and make sure they know exactly when you will be back. if you can, look out for the notice on the forum and the signs in the village announcing our weekly Wednesday get-together. Very informal, and a good chance to meet some of the people who are regularly on the forum. Just an hour of your time on Wednesday at 11:00 am. Nino's is heavily booked in September, Carol, so if you are serious then get your foot in the door as quickly as possible. If you react anything like the rest of us, we will see you again & again. Have a good time, Steve

Seriously folks - just across the road (well almost) from Oasis, is a fantastic business opportunity for someone who, like Carol, is blessed with good fortune. The owners, Dave & Ida, are here at the moment and the apartments are looking at there very best. Take a look at:

Thanks for the big welcome everyone - not that I expected anything less having read the threads on here over the last few weeks. I feel like I know you all already. Jan - looks like we will be out in Roda at the same time so may bump into you Steve - telephone number for a contract cleaner - what an excellent idea. As for Petra, sounds like a woman after my own heart - pro-active! Johno - I hope I have been blessed by the hand of Zeus. I have one big job interview on the 5th so will be celebrating big time in Roda if I get the job. I have blessed your lottery ticket - for purely selfish reasons of course free holidays in Roda sound idyllic Speak to you all soon Carol x
