sthenenssaint, can't remember who we travelled with, but it was our 2nd time there, the 1st time we had a studio and it was massive (took our Gson with us) and we really enjoyed it, so when we got that top room, well...lizards in bed, broken bathroom window, sink falling off wall and corridor got flooded when it rained.....couldn't swing a cat !!!!.......but we had fun

17-18 yrs ago they were with 1st choice, we had two friends staying there, we were in makis they could not believe the difference, i think makis was then with grecian . and in reply to the original post .guest most of the accom [self catering]in corfu is basic its only somewhere to sleep but you obviously dont expect the roof to leak .it would be interesting to know the accom name though

I'm sure The Roda Studios were with Grecian and Costa from the Roda Park had his bar there (below the appartments), the following year when we returned, Costa was in The Roda Park.Kaz

I have no idea John........didn't think it had a name being as it was below the Studios....now, just remembered, we stayed there (Studios) when the strike was on and the locals threw the tables & chairs from the Roda Star into the sea and we could only get pizza to eat, Angelo was a waiter at the time, he has his own appartments now, remember

Dear Guest, as a Jock I find I have to agree with you !! I will not be going back to English Roda, I will be going back to Greek, Albanian, Italian, Irish, Welsh, Dutch, Danish,German and ( apologies to any I've missed) Roda where I've even got a few English friends. I suppose you could call me a seasoned traveller, ( 24 years Royal Navy, 19 years Merchant Navy) as I've been about a bit. Even if you're not on a package holiday Roda is a package neatly wrapped by the local Greeks, and I like this package! Sorry to hear that you were dissapointed as I've had some really marvellous times in Roda. I hope that you give it another go, possibly with different accommodation. I sincerely hope that your next holiday ( Roda or not) turns out better for you. All the best , Johno.

Just because there are English bars/restaurants in Roda it does not mean you have to frequent them as there are plenty of Greek tavernas that will make you very welcome.
We got back on Friday after 2 weeks of heaven and for our meals on the nightime we went to the following.
Odysseus 5 times OPA 5 times Smiley's 2 times Nikos Family Tavern 2 times
A warm welcome and great food as always at them all ;D

Are you on a diet Spanisheyes ? Only 14 meals in 10 days (if my math is correct) ? Or have you left out liquid lunches ?

We've been going to Roda for the past 10 years and always eat and drink in Greek Restraunts and Tavernas. Yes there may some 'Englishy' places, but you don't have to frequent them if they're not your thing. Thats the wonderful thing about Roda, there's something for everyone and if you can't find what you want, they'll do their damdest to get it for you! Luv Jan X

I am also type 2 Diabetic, but have found no problem with eating habits in Corfu or for anywhere else for that matter. The diet in Greece is very good, with lots of meat, fish and salads. Even the Baclavas are good, specially those made with the natural honey, as long as one consumes in moderation. Drink wise I am OK as I am not a drinker, but do like the odd Ouzo and Diet Sprite or similar, otherwise I stick to the wines. I take my readings on a daily basis as usual, moreso on holiday, and if any, there is not a lot of difference.
