I've recently decided to go vegetarian Just really got into the habit of not eating meat, then i remembered Roda, and the Stifado, Sofrito...........I could go on and on BUT I really want to stick with my decision. So, other than Greek Salad, Pizza or Cheese Pasties, what are my options in the various restaurants. I may be persuaded to eat fish
Thanks
Andy

Hi Andy, I'm sure that you'll be able to find a lot of vegetarian dishes in Roda although you may have to pre-order. You may find a few recipes/dishes on a site I like ''mydailymoment''which has lots of really good stuff. Happy hunting (is that PC for a vegetarian? ) if not, happy harvesting!!!

A friend of ours is vegetarian, and she ate very well on our last visit to Corfu. In fact I was surprised how many vegetable dishes there was considering the amount of meat usually eaten. I have to admit there were a number of vegetarian meals I enjoyed the taste of also.
How far into vegetarianism have you gone. What I mean is, do you still eat fish, dairy products, etc. As you know these are in abundance also on Corfu, and worth trying.

If you look at the much acknowledged Greek diet, the intake of meat is small compared to that of vegetables. It is not always reflected in restaurants who are catering for tourists, but many locals eat mainly vegetarian meals. It is unfortunate that most of their simple dishes never find their way on to the menus. Almost every restaurant in the village will have something for vegetarians and don't forget, if time allows, most will always conjure something up on the spot.

Of course, they've always been very accommodating in the past Thanks for the advice Andy
