@ Steve, I think I saw Voula Koursaris eating avgolemono this summer, is it really a Christmas speciality? I did not know this. @ all the other Rodafans: here are some more greek christmassongs...
For those who like Byzantine Christmas Carols:
For those who like a more modern Christmassong:

I just found a video about the traditional Corfiot Christmas carol they sing on Christmas Eve going door-by-door. I think I read a story about the children going door-by-door, not sure if it was on the forum? do you remember writing something last year steve?

Voula cooked avgolemono soup for us once, Petra and that was at Easter. Perhaps it is special treat for big occasions - shame there aren't more of them! ;D

The first of Petra's Christmas songs yesterday showed children playing triangles. Having never been here at Christmas before we hadn't realised that groups of children tour the villages on Christmas Eve, playing their triangles and singing Christmas songs. I don't remember writing anything before, Petra, but the experience is quite magical and, of course, safety is not an issue. ;D

This was the'avgolemono' being served today with a drop of this year's home-made wine in the foreground. Perhaps we'll publish a recipe for the soup in the next magazine. Steve

I think the Greek recycle their waterbottles well...This year I returned home twice with such a waterbottle full of oliveoil! 1 of them I still have to pay for ;D The second bottle is now almost empty , so I have to return to Roda quickly to buy me another bottle and to pay for the last one as well !!

Greece gets a bad press about recycling, Petra, and I think it is unfair. The Corfiots are natural recyclers and everything has a use to somebody. Water bottles have many applications.

As a variation on the 'avgolemono' soup served at Christmas, this is today's lunch - 'youvarlakia' in egg & lemon sauce. These are simply mince & rice meatballs, simmered in stock and served in the sauce - they should be on everyone's summer menu!
