Quite a few years ago it was the same with pirate videos and we were told it was because there wasn't a cinema on Corfu.
How true this is, I do not know....

ah fair enough. dont know how them anoying sellers get away with it tho does frustrate me when they come by everyday and still dont get the message that NO is NO . rememebr when i went to chavos few years back some peeps got a couple of dvds off them then straigh away played them on there lappy and they didnt work a riot almost broke out when they tried getting there 20 euros back. Also not worth the risk of getting caught in uk customs but then again u gotta be stupid to buy them anyways.
on subject of no cinemas ive googled etc and it seems there is cinemas ??

I would simply say that it is individual choice made by the bar owners in the hope of benefiting of their customers!

Hi Luke - the DVD sellers are welcomed by the locals as they take the attitude that everyone, no matter what creed, race or circumstance, has the right to earn a living. The lads are exploited by the people who 'feed' them, but they always come in with a smile. They really are not a problem.

Hi I am very much against the pirate DVD business, the money raised will usually fund the criminal classes (drugs illegal immigrants ect). Also my family is connect with the supply of DVD,s legally!!. This supply of pirate movies is affecting the movie business as the criminals are stealing millions of pounds to fund there activities. So any body who purchases one of these films is helping them , and therefore braking the the law. Sorry to sound so cross but this trade gets me going. Steve.

It's a strange situation, Steve, everyone here knows that the lads selling the DVDs are being exploited and they sympathise with their situation. These boys are doing whatever they can to survive while the people who supply them run around in BMWs! There's a lot of money to be made out of exploiting the poor and the genuine traders suffer as a result.
