If you have not eaten in here yet, shame on you! They don't only do Mexican food so give it a try. The two young men who run it are very pleasant, very polite, very attentive to their customer's needs but very unobtrusive. The sizzleling chicken is very good and the way it is served will surprise you! The steak Diane is to die for and if you like your steak rare, as I do, then this is the place. They also understand that people like to share food with their companion so if only one of you orders a starter they will bring it out and, without being asked, another plate and fork for the abstainer. It's the same with the desserts, one dessert but two spoons/forks. With my dessert only one spoon was used, MINE, no way was I sharing that!! We went there three times in a fortnight and the food and the service were impeccable on each occasion. JackieM

Jackie, I agree. We go once or twice, when we come. Actually, the 4 of us (me, the other half, mum & dad) went for my Birthday, 2 years ago, cos that's where I wanted to go.
In fact, when I was there with my mate, 4 years ago, we ate there quite a lot. The rack of ribs you get is humungous! lol
I love it & will definitely go back this year.

Most of the traditional restaurants have fish dishes and the most popular being grilled sea bream. Almost all the fish in the village is freshly delivered every day, so look out for the various delivery men to see what's available. If we go into Corfu Town early (8:00am), and park by the market, we always see the local fishmongers bartering and collecting their day's stock from the deep-sea fishermen. You should see some of the tuna that they catch! The other thing to ask about is whether the fish is farmed or whether it is wild - most of the sea bream comes from the fish farm at Seki Bay, just along the road to Kassiopi. Our favourites are sardines, marida, kalamari, sole & mullet, and most are available every day at many of the restaurants. Perhaps the best variety of fish available in Roda is at OPA Taverna, as Yiannis tends to buy what is available as opposed to what is on his menu. Look out for 'sfirida' (grouper fish) when he has it - my all-time favourite. Out of season, Yiannis also sells 'soupies' (cuttlefish) and don't forget the famous Corfiot spicy fish dish - bourdhetto. We called at Dromeas yesterday and Miriam was cooking fish for her lunch - if you fancy cooking your own fresh fish, go to the Harbour Bar and ask them to catch your favourite fish just for you - it doesn't come fresher than that!

I must thank Jackie for mentioning lobster when talking about sunscreens. I forgot that one of OPA's signature dishes is one of their Corfiot customers' favourites - lobster, on a bed of spaghetti and in a tomato sauce. ;D
