Hi Kath - the photo was taken from exactly the same place as this one, and it wasn't opposite the Hotel Milton! ;D

I rudely ignored the request to explain where the photos were taken from in the hope that someone might guess. Anyhow, I took these pics to show where we were - along the road from Lafki to Strinilas. Standing under the tree near Golden Sand - shown in the first photo - you can barely see where the road is high on the mountainside. As I zoom in from the other side of the village, you can just see the road at the top of the afternoon shadow. The last pic is the real view from up there.

Welcome ezappas - we look forward to you playing an active part in our forum. I have heard the figure of 500 mentioned in respect of Roda's permanent population, but it seems we are on the increase. Around 2002, many people moved to Roda from abroad, even though a lot have gone again since, but I have heard of several coming here to stay next year. Is there a move afoot that we don't know about or are all the post-war babies retiring? We have 500 members on the rodaonline forum now which is the same as the population of the village itself. Maybe you should all come here and we'll double our size!
Steve

Thanks for the info Steve. In the U.S. they call us post-war babies "baby boomers" and I am one. Many thousands retire every day! I'm glad to be one of them and am looking forward to living in my beloved Corfu again. I have never lived in our house since the last time I was in Greece was in 1995 and the house was just being finished but my husband is there with my sons every summer. You have probably seen them around. I can't wait to go! Elise
